About
Ana Bustamante
An ICU nurse and educator who has sat with people at the end of their lives, and who builds practical work for people who want to change theirs before then.
Educator, ICU nurse, entrepreneur, and author. The bedside is where the work comes from: hospitals are full of people who assumed there would be more time to fix the thing they never fixed.
Also true, and worth saying plainly: single mother of triplets, bilingual Latina, and a faith arrived at rather than inherited.
The work
Unfamiliar Freedom is the first book, not the whole of it. Alongside it sit letters, teaching, and education built for people who are functioning on the outside and stuck on the inside.
The aim is narrow on purpose. You should leave with language for what you have been carrying, and one specific thing to do about it.
What this is not
- Not therapy, and not a substitute for care from someone qualified to give it.
- Not a cure, a system, or a promise about how long it takes.
- Not manufactured urgency. Nothing here expires at midnight to make you buy faster.
Teaching comes first. What is sold is only what the teaching has already made useful.
Start with the book: Unfamiliar Freedom.
